Chapter 11: Day 11 of Raising the Nation’s Little Darling

Su Yuqing, suddenly shoved from behind, stumbled. She staggered back, barely managing to steady herself by holding onto the table.

Looking up, she saw Feng Yaoqin who had just entered the room. Su Yuqing's lips tightened, a flicker of anger flashing across her dark eyes.

It's happening again, every single time…

It always seems like I'm the one bullying Gu Suisui, even though I haven't done anything.

This familiar scene filled Su Yuqing with rage.

She was just starting junior high school when this mother-daughter duo first entered their lives, and a similar incident occurred at that time.

Back then, Gu Suisui, reaching for a toy on a high shelf, accidentally fell and hit her head. Su Yuqing was the only other person in the room. But when her father rushed in after hearing the commotion, this woman, without a word, pushed her aside and scooped Gu Suisui into her arms, crying hysterically. This led her father to believe that Su Yuqing was dissatisfied with his remarriage so she pushed her "little sister" down.

Before, she would have felt only a sense of injustice, believing her father had misunderstood. It never occurred to her that the problem lay elsewhere. But after seeing through their true colors, Su Yuqing understood. They did it on purpose. She was the only fool, blinded by their false family affection, genuinely treating them as her sister and stepmother.

And what about them? On the surface, they were so good to her, acting as if they were looking out for her in every way, while secretly wishing that she would be alienated by her father so that her father would leave all the family property to them in the future.

"Don't be scared, Suisui. Mommy's here. Mommy won't let anyone bully you again," Feng Yaoqin had already made up her mind that this unfamiliar girl was responsible for her daughter's tears.

Gu Suisui, nestled in her mother's arms, sobbed uncontrollably, her small body trembling. Her words came out broken, "Mommy, this sister… she…" Why does she hate me so much? QAQ

From the time the little cotton candy had become a spirit until now, she had never felt so much malice towards her from a person. This was the first time.

Perhaps her luck had always been very good. Every human she encountered after crossing over was friendly towards her, and some of them even took care of her in every way. So, now, as a human child, Gu Suisui couldn't comprehend why this girl in front of her would hate her so much.

It was obvious that they had only met for the first time.

The little cotton candy didn't like this feeling of being hated at all, not at all!

Feng Yaoqin's heart ached at the sight of her daughter crying so hard. Suppressing her anger, she turned to Su Yuqing, who stood watching with cold eyes, and asked loudly, "What on earth did you do to my daughter? She's only three and a half years old! How could you, a girl your age, do such a thing?!"

Su Yuqing clenched her fists at her sides, her eyes dropping slightly to conceal the flash of mockery. "Auntie," she said calmly, "Don't accuse me without proof. I did nothing. She bumped into the corner of the table and hurt herself. Isn't that a normal thing?"

Did it hurt her?

Su Yuqing could still vividly recall the pain of being hit by that truck. It felt as if every bone in her body shattered in an instant, especially in her chest. The pain was unbearable, suffocating.

And it was all because of Gu Suisui, because of this 'good daughter' of hers!

And now, this person was crying over bumping into a table?! What's there to cry about!!

Did it hurt as much as dying in her past life?!

"You're lying!" Feng Yaoqin refused to believe her. She and Suisui were the only two people in the waiting room. Now, with Suisui suddenly in tears, who else could be responsible?

Su Yuqing's aunt, who rushed over after hearing the noise, quickly figured out the cause and effect of the whole thing. With patience, she interjected, "Madam, my niece has explained herself. If you don't believe her, your daughter is right here. Why don't you ask her what happened?"

She knew her niece well enough to know she would never bully a child.

"Auntie, there's no need to waste our breath on unreasonable people." Su Yuqing successfully auditioned for a role and needed a guardian's signature on the contract. Not wanting to ask her father for help, she reached out to her aunt, who treated her like her own child.

Tearful Gu Yuyao heard that everyone seemed to be arguing for her and choked out to explain, "Mommy, what sister…said is true. I really bumped into the corner of the table."

Although this human had great malice towards her, she hadn't actually done anything yet.

Su Yuqing's brow furrowed, surprised that Gu Suisui had actually offered an explanation instead of feigning innocence as she usually did. But then, a thought crossed her mind, and her expression relaxed.

Feng Yaoqin, however, remained unconvinced. It was a mother's intuition.

The way this girl looked at Suisui made her feel uncomfortable. There was something unsettling about her. It was one of the reasons why Feng Yaoqin immediately blamed her for her daughter's tears.

Sensing Feng Yaoqin's hostility, Su Yuqing sneered inwardly. How ridiculous. To think they're still able to continue pretending. It seems their acting skills are as impressive as ever, especially my stepmother's. It's a pity that she's not an actress.

Thankfully, her soft-hearted father wasn't present. Otherwise, he would have fallen for their white lotus act once again.

"Madam." Su Yuqing's aunt said, "Since your daughter has said that it was her accidentally bumping into the corner of the table that made her cry, it's clear it was all a misunderstanding. We have nothing to do here, I will take the child away first."

After saying that, the two left the lounge.

Only when the source of the unsettling feeling was gone did Gu Suisui, who had been crying non-stop, gradually calmed down. Yet, she couldn't figure out why that human hated her so much. She was depressed as they headed home.

That night, Gu Suisui had a dream.

In the dream, 'she' arrived at a new home with her mother. In this more spacious home, there was a tall and handsome uncle, and a little sister with a ponytail.

This was likely a fragment of the original host's memory.

After crossing over, while Gu Suisui knew the plot of the novel, her memories of the original host remained hazy, shrouded in a fog, making it difficult to see clearly.

Time moved quickly in the dream. After 'she' and her mother moved into this new home, many things happened. However, the further the dream progressed, the more alarmed the little cotton candy became. It wasn't until she saw the tragic death of the little girl with the ponytail in a car accident that she understood that 'she' had done so many terrible things to that girl she met in the daytime. No wonder that human hated 'her'.

Moreover, through this dream, Gu Suisui also discovered a shocking truth:

The little girl in the dream seemed to be the female protagonist of this entertainment industry novel. And she was reborn!

Understanding the reason behind the human's hatred, Gu Suisui felt much better, although she still felt a little wronged. After all, it wasn't her who did those bad things in the dream.

However, she was currently inhabiting this body. While she didn't know where the original host had gone, she had indeed occupied this human body. That was an irrefutable fact.

So what should she do now?

The female protagonist, mistaking her for the original host, must have hated "her".

The little cotton candy was deeply conflicted. According to Sister Peach Blossom Fairy, by inhabiting this body, she inevitably inherited a portion of its karma.

Gu Suisui clenched her tiny fists, and made up her mind that she must find a way to approach that girl and work hard to resolve this karmic debt.

She was a good fairy with a sense of responsibility!
